Our Story

Event-Lit was founded by Ryan Branham who came from a life much different than events. Ryan’s hometown of Eagle River, WI, provided the backdrop for his passion for Ice Hockey. Despite struggling to be a top prospect, after high school and Junior Hockey, he earned a spot as a walk-on player at a Division 1 program, Lake Superior State University, eventually earning a scholarship and becoming team captain through dedication and hard work.

After earning his Marketing Degree, Ryan pursued a career in professional hockey, playing for the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL and the San Angelo Saints of the CHL. Alongside his hockey pursuits, Ryan co-founded Branham Hockey Camps in 2004 with his brother Tim, which is still leaving a lasting impact on young athletes today.

In 2021, Ryan’s desire to bring joy to people’s lives through memorable events led him to establish Event-Lit in Orlando, FL. Determined to offer the highest quality marquee letters, he taught himself to weld and began fabricating his own letters, personally crafting them using aluminum with a powder-coated finish. From time to time, Ryan enlists the help of local welders who share his commitment to quality.

In 2022, Event-Lit began offering licensing opportunities for its branding, products, and services to local business owners across the United States. We took a significant step forward by establishing our first licensed locations. Frank and Shelly Sus became the proud owners of our Knoxville, TN location, while Jessica Woodall took the helm in Tampa, FL shortly after.

In 2023, Event-Lit reached a significant milestone by unveiling its first quad-stacked setup, towering over 17 feet tall. This accomplishment underscored Event-Lit’s commitment to innovation and excellence. Later that year, we forged a partnership with a local Tech College to support aspiring welders in gaining valuable experience and expertise in welding our letters. Additionally, in 2023, we expanded our reach by adding a new location in Columbus, OH, led by owners Nate and Kim Handrahan.

Today, Event-Lit has grown to serve multiple locations nationwide, setting a new standard for quality in the Marquee Letter Business. From weddings to corporate events, we’re here to illuminate every occasion with our Luxury Lighted Marquee Letters and Numbers. The initial start up fee is $39,000 for a set amount of letters. Don't be afraid to reach out! Options and adjustments can be made.

We provide a web page on our website, marketing tools, business plans, access to more inventory or custom designs, best practices, industry-leading tools, and equipment.

There is a small monthly licensing fee equivalent to one small letter setup per month. This never increases or changes based on your sales.

We currently are licensing in the United States.  Each location has their own area and there will be NO overlap in large cities.  By no overlap we mean there will be only 1 location in each major city/area.  We don’t feel like your marketing efforts and hard work should benefit any other business but your own!  If you can grow your business to reach every corner of your large city then do it!

Yes, you can purchase as many additional territories as you’d like.

You will receive our Marketing Plan/How to booklet upon purchase.  We will prep you prior to opening and work with you on any help or support you need.  We have already built up a good base on the best way to enter into the Letter Business and different strategies you can choose.

We do offer different packages that can include SEO work or other online marketing tools. We also work with you to provide the best practices that we have used and other locations have used to succeed.

Your letter business is yours!  You create your own business and your business will grow based upon the work you do!  We provide the letters, racks and how-to to help you along.  You use our name and likeness.  The only restrictions are that you use our letters!  We will have other products that you can also utilize and rent or we can help you create something unique for your area as well!

Yes, with guidance from Event-Lit you can sell/transfer the license in the future.  The best part is that with hard work growing your business, you can sell it for more than you bought it for!

You will need a large area (400-800 sq ft) to organize your letters. The best maintenance is care in the moment! Take it easy on the letters and they will last many years! We do have solutions for you to revitalize your letters when the time comes.
